The goal of this concept paper is to highlight the importance and feasibility of using Community Health
Information System (CHIS) data for decision-making at the community level and to share best practices to
encourage community health workers (CHWs) to use the data they produce – either directly or with their
supervisors, peers and their community, as highlighted in the guidance on CHIS (UNICEF et al., 2021).
